Mysore is located in the state of Karnataka, 140 Km from Bangalore. Mysore is city of palaces, gardens, shady avenues and sacred temples and offers an affordable and comfortable lifestyle to its inhabitants. Mysore is also an important educational, commercial and administrative centre.
Mysore is viewed as one of the most promising Tier-II cities in India. Efforts are being made by the current state administration to persuade IT companies to move to Mysore, to ease the infrastructure burden on Bangalore and enhance the overall development of the state. The existing four-lane road linking Mysore to Bangalore is being upgraded to a six-lane highway, which will significantly reduce the commute time between the two cities. Mysore and Bangalore are also connected by rail and there are plans to re-open and upgrade Mysore airport.
Infosys has recently established a state of the art campus on 330 acres of land in Mysore. Wipro has also acquired land to develop a facility in the city, and a number of other companies such as Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Software Paradigm India (SPI), Reid & Talyor, L&T Electronics already have operations in the city. |
