Mohali is a city adjacent to Chandigarh in Punjab. Mohali was conceived as an industrial township in late 1960s and early 1970s. Today, Mohali is a city with a very distinct image and not just a suburb of Chandigarh. Real estate developers have rushed in and today Mohali has projects of developers like Emmar-MGF, TDI and Unitech. Mohali is projected to be amongst the first cities aimed at by the Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) for transforming it into a world class city.
Much of the recent real estate development in Chandigarh, especially for IT/ITeS sector, is now concentrated in areas like Mohali. SP Infocity Mohali is a part of the QuarkCity SEZ. It is adjacent to the Dell facility which was also constructed and let out by the Shapoorji Pallonji group. QuarkCity is a 51-acre development in Mohali, developed by Denver based company Quark. It includes world-class residential, commercial, retail, hotel projects and an IT/ITES SEZ (Special Economic Zone). |
